Whenever Radiohead loses me with their musical explorations, they still, generally, win me over with their innovations in digital media. Their “12 Cams, Create Your Rainbow” site, launched as an online extension to their 2008 Japan Tour, is a great reminder of how video continues to be such a powerful device – sometimes even more so, depending upon the controls that we put in the hands of consumers.
Taking this idea a bit further, beyond enabling fanatics to play cameraperson, I have also provided a few examples of image and video object manipulation. Once ready for mass use, these concepts could lead to the development of some extraordinary content and interactive experiences.
